April’s reading list

Add comments

I read a couple of books in March, too, so I’m just gonna throw them in here.

  • Little House in the Ozarks: The Rediscovered Writings (Laura Ingalls Wilder and Stephen Hines, ed.)
  • The Witch of Cologne (Tobsha Learner)
  • The Big U (Neal Stephenson)
  • two early 1980s Harlequin Presents by Carole Mortimer1
  • Seventh Son (Orson Scott Card)
  • Red Prophet (Orson Scott Card)
  • Prentice Alvin (Orson Scott Card)

I do also need to make a confession before God and the internet. I subscribed to Martha Stewart Living. I couldn’t help it and it was beyond my control and I was forced into it, et cetera, et cetera, and so forth. It was the subliminal messages in the clean lines, uncluttered fonts, lots of white space, practical information, and nifty ideas2. I cannot be held responsible for this lapse in judgment. It must be a chemical imbalance. I can get a prescription for this, right?

1So I like cheese. Pass the whine.
2Do not, under any circumstances, assume that this means I’m a fan.

I love Orson Scott Card - have you read either the Ender series or Pastwatch: redemption of Christopher Columbus? Good stuff.

Naw. I only just recently got into the Alvin Maker series on the recommendation of a friend.

I have a nasty habit of reading one author until I’m sick of that author and then I move on to someone else for a while. I just finished the Alvin Maker series (including the two short stories) and now I’m going to move along to someone else. Who that might be, I don’t know yet but I gotta find somebody soon.

Suddenly, my bathroom is a mighty boring place to be.
