This is taking longer than I expected, naturally. Isn’t that what they always tell you? It’s not taking longer because of any unexpected complications (all complications have been expected). It’s taking longer because I keep having fires to put out: The Boy knocked over a TV and VCR, I unexpectedly had to put up a light fixture, Some Children like to get up on the dining room table and swing from the chandelier (no that’s not a joke and it’s not the same light fixture, either), and Same Children think they need to be fed three times a day… You get the picture.
I’m half finished with demolition. I should probably wait until I get down to studs to figure out how I’m going to proceed with configuration. I’ve learned why people say to wear a mask when dealing with mold and fiberglass insulation and why you’re supposed to wear gloves and long sleeves when actually handling the insulation. Look, ma! No gloves!
Tangentially, I have these ugly fixtures that, apparently, are now considered “retro.” I went to eBay to see what such fixtures are selling for and while it’s not a lot, it’s better than throwing it all out.
