I first heard of blogs in Esquire magazine (which I had to stop reading because they had apparently declared a moratorium on commas) in 2001. I have to admit, I was never fascinated by the idea that one should unlock one’s diary online, away from the protected sanctuary of a private forum or two. The closest I ever got to that was on Usenet (which is still my first message board love).

In any case, I feel woefully inadequate to handle this task, but I shall learn as I go and hopefully not annoy too many of you.
